Rainy Sunday

"Sitting-room, bed-room, lumber-room. All as they should be. Nobody under the table, nobody under the sofa; a small fire in the grate; spoon and basin ready; and the little saucepan of gruel (Scrooge has a cold in his head) upon the hob. Nobody under the bed; nobody in the closet; nobody in his dressing-gown, which was hanging up in a suspicious attitude against the wall. Lumber-room as usual. Old fire-guard, old shoes, two fish-baskets, washing-stand on three legs, and a poker." A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens

Yesterday the weather wasn't designed to make you jump up and click your heels, unless you like it dark, cold, and rainy.  I have no idea what the temperature was, I only know it was wet and c-o-l-d!

As I was going through my sewing room yesterday, I found these little crooked house blocks in a container of odds and ends.  Donna Radner showed me how to make them a very long time ago (dare I say 3-4 years??) and I only made 5 at the time, intending to go back and make enough for a wall hanging.  I'll just add this to my "to-do" list ... this is not, I repeat not, a UFO!

Since I refuse to create another UFO, I invented myself a very special category which I've named "whenever/if ever".  These blocks fit that category to a "T"!

Here's a picture of the CR-V I'm thinking of getting... not in red though; it will either be the Royal Blue Pearl (another word for deep blue) or Opal Sage Metallic (pale green) - I think we pay them to come up with these color names. I'm leaning towards the green because supposedly light colors are easier to see at night. Whatever.

In any case, I didn't do any car-hunting yesterday because it was so cold and dreary outside; I only wanted to stay inside and play with my stash.

  1. I have driven only red cars since 1978. I didn't know there was any other color!!

Your houses are the kind of blocks that are in my 'parts' box. No pressure, use when ready.
