I was floored

and loved it!

In Las Vegas one of our jaunts took us to the Venetian hotel and casino; I'd never been there before and I was fascinated!  Take a look at these floors:

Aren't they gorgeous?  Do you see any quilt designs, maybe a border design for the bottom one at the left? (Feet courtesy Michelle (white slacks) and Eloise)

But I was even more floored by the ceiling, just look at that painting!

if you rotate your head to the right it looks better... actually I should have shot it at a different angle, but what ya gonna do  ;o)

The shopping district is decorated to look like an outside street scene

We could see small lights embedded in the ceiling and we meant to go back at night and see what they did, but we forgot!

And if you've been to the Venetian hotel or even heard about it, you probably know about their canals...

There is also a canal outside the hotel, but this is all inside!  You can take a gondola ride for $15; the pilot/driver above was seranading his clients with an Italian aria.

That's all for now; more pictures later, then back to my sewing room!

Sew forth and sew on, have a great Tuesday

  1. Those are some floors! I would be floored too ( and probably would have had to lie on them to get the ceiling picture)

  3. What great inspiration all around. Oh the shadow box floor tile is gorgeous, but I would get the feeling of falling into a hole!

  4. The floors are wonderful. Only a quilter would take photos of them! Good for you. It sounds like you had a great time.

  5. Girl I though I was the only looking at floors when I go out. The was a quilter sueing about a quilt she made and they use her design in their hotel.
