Where did my Saturday go?? You know how you start doing a bunch of things early in the day, then when you come up for air it's way late? I tried talking myself into a trip to the Janome dealer in Fairfax but it was truly cold and dreary outside. But... between laundry, cleaning, and other household drudgery, I managed to get in a little bit of sewing that I didn't have to choose-measure-and-cut or think too hard about. I added more to my Parts Department - some crumb piecing, a few scrappy 3" flying geese -
and also some mini crooked squares.
I like making these because I can use ugly fabric, and after it's finished who knows it was born ugly? I have a project in mind for these but I need to do a few more first. Things are looking good.
Oh yes, I have a new favorite ingredient for my green salads - sun dried tomatoes! The other day a friend took me to a belated birthday lunch at Ruby Tuesday (my favorite lunch-time place because it's quick) and I discovered all over again how much I like sun-dried tomatoes in my salad! So, I picked up a package when I was at Wegman's on Friday -
Big Salad, here I come!
Oh, I could eat those dried tomatoes without the salad! Yummm.
ReplyDeleteUgly fabric??? hahaha. Those look pretty great to me!
ReplyDeleteIt;s nice to just sit down and sew, without having to think about it. What fun you will have using the odds and ends you made.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a lot of progress with all of the little pieces. That's the kind of sewing I like, because eventually there is a big box full of parts to use.
