"Most terribly cold it was; it snowed, and was nearly quite dark, and evening -- the last evening of the year. In this cold and darkness there went along the street a poor little girl, bareheaded, and with naked feet."
-- The Little Match Girl, by Hans Christian Andersen
The new MGM casino at National Harbor (just outside Washington, DC) is opening tonight, after almost five years of planning and construction. They've been airing a most kewl tv commercial for about a month, you can see it here. The idea is that chefs, bartenders, entertainers, etc. are crossing the Potomac River (like George Washington?) to get to the new destination.
More progress on En Provence!
Can order come out of this chaos??
Medium-length strips, long strips, kinda short strips in every kind of neutral are coming out to play!
Pair those strips, sew those pairs - nose to the needle!
Just over 100 of the 4-patches for part 1 are cut, paired, sewn and twirled!
And I finished all the triangle-in-a-square units for part 2 - 100 of em!
I love progress - looking good!
Today will be another no-sew day for me, so I may have to scramble to catch up after part 3 of the mystery comes out on Friday ... I hope it's an easy one!
Sew forth and sew on ...

It is indeed looking good. Have fun!
ReplyDeletethank you for interpreting that commercial. I didn't get it.:0)
ReplyDeleteI am going to start tonight. Wish me luck and I will update my blog.
It's nice to know that those 4-patches can be sewn along the way. Glad step 2 is done and looking forward to step 3 tomorrow.
ReplyDeletedefinitely a neat commercial. Nice to see a different rather than the usual blatant push for a casino.
