There's nothing quite like a ...

... quilt show!  As planned, I went to the Milltown Guild quilt show yesterday, and I was not disappointed!  There were so many gorgeous quilts, and a large number of them had been hand quilted.  I was chatting with an angel and she said a lot of their members prefer hand work, exclusively.

Of course, I was drawn to the scrappy quilts...

I saw two beautiful jackets on display...
the one on the right had a matching bag, isn't that gorgeous?

No quilt show is complete without at least one Baltimore Album quilt, hand-quilted of course...
I saw several full-sized ones.  

I like this little medallian quilt for it's bright colors and simple, fuss-free layout...

I found these ladies intriguing, there were several quilts using these little picture panels.  Not all the same though; I noticed this one was all teachers
 

You gotta love these trees ...
the picture's a bit fuzzy but you can see some quilting detail in the close up.

Oh man, I wish I could show all the beautiful quilts I saw, but you have to stop somewhere!  So ... I stopped at the Fabric Peddler on Vendors' Row, where Nadine was right glad to see me  ;o)

And I'm pleased to note that I bought a pattern and only 3 pieces of fabric (a total of 2 yards), yaaay me! ... oops!  I also bought some used books - I found Gwen Marston's Folk-Art Quilts, I'd been meaning to buy that one; also Big Book of Small Quilts by Mary Hickey, and 3 others that looked interesting... $13 total, not bad.

It was a beautiful day and a great quilt show; I'm glad I got a chance to see it!

    Thanks for sharing. I love quilt shows. They are so inspirational. So many amazingly talented folks out there.

    I love local quilt shows because you see such diversity. They are made from love of each stitch - super shows the quilts are concentrated on WINNING. I just drool over Baltimore Album quilts. I'll never master the technique and admire those who do such lovely work. Thank you for sharing with us.

    Did you buy a pattern for those jackets? Now, that is something I would like to make. (and I say that on the first day I have been able to sit in my house without a jacket on!)

    That was one quilt show that I left feeling really happy, the quilts were so pretty. I've never attempted a Baltimore Album quilt because I know full well I wouldn't finish it! I know myself too well, LOL.

    The jackets were part of the quilt show, aren't they great?
