Three things to be happy about:
(1) doodling in a notebook
(2) wishing others well
(3) sharing your successes
Our guild challenge this year is to make a quilt or garment or bag or whatever from at least two colors from a paint chip that we drew.
I drew this green!
I was hoping to shop my stash for this challenge, and I thought I had a piece of solid fabric that matched the next to lightest color, but I don't - it has too much blue in it.
Ironically, some of the fabric that I could have used was used up in my Wee Bee challenge. There's not enough of any of it left - oh well!
This one would have been perfect - BUT - I have less than a fat quarter left!
Nope!
I can't even fudge this one!
Since we have to use at least two of the colors, I think this one's a good match! I have about 3/4 yard left - the quilt has to be at least 12 inches.
I can add two other colors to the focus fabrics, and/or black and white.
Challenge!
I know I can do this, just needs a bit of figuring out - sew forth and sew on til later!
I'm always impressed with the challenges your guild comes up with. They are interesting, exciting AND challenging. Oh...these greens are beautiful. I think the one you picked is a great match and that one that's less than a fat quarter could certainly be used as a design element. Go forth and sew!
ReplyDeleteI agree, your guild challenges are great. You have some pretty greens that could even be mixed.
ReplyDeleteEvery quilt is a challenge for me and I don't even take on other challenges.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I don't have to match color from my stash. even though I have a lot, when my grandson requested purple and lime green, I realized how little I have of those colors. That quilt would hardly make a pillow cover.
What fun! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Love those greens!
