Mid-Atlantic quilt show

Three things to be happy about:
(1) new ideas
(2) keeping your options open
(3) quilt shows

Hi everybody!  Last Saturday I went to the Mid-Atlantic quilt festival in Hampton, Virginia and I'm just now getting around to uploading the pictures.

But first I wanted to show you winter's last hurrah, as seen from my front porch.  We had a little snow last night, but at the time I took this picture it was already melting, yaaay!

In the convention center atrium Renea and I ran into the mayor of Hampton, Mayor George Wallace.  He was standing behind a desk, we had a question and we all just started talking.  Then he points to a picture on the desk and says "Oh by the way, that's me."

So funny!  He's a very nice person, chatting away like an old friend.

And now, the quilts - this year they added a modern quilt category.  Some may be slightly out of focus, I was having camera issues.

who wouldn't love this art quilt, the pillows look ready to fall off the shelf!

So many art quilts, portrait quilts, modern quilts!  I still have more to share that I'll post tomorrow.
Sew forth and sew on til later...

  4. Beautiful quilts. I've seen the pillow one at other shows - some of these travel around for a few years.
