My first posting!

Hello everybody, you're reading the first post on my brand-new blog!  I've been enjoying so many great blogs lately that I wanted to start my own, so that I also can share what I'm up to.  I like quilting; I also like looking at quilts, and I've seen some gorgeous work on these blogs.

Here's a quilt I finished  this month for my guild's 2010 challenge - "Beautiful African Ladies."  We were to create a quilt, wall hanging, block, bag, or wearable art using fabric that depicted African ladies, or we could embroider a design.  I released my ladies from a panel by Julia Cairns and posed them in front of an exhibit hall - this appliqued quilt is named "The No. 1 Ladies' Quilting Society."  Enjoy!

  5. I love this! I also like The No, 1 Ladies Detective Agency books. I named my quilt shop after them!!!! The No. 1 Ladies Quilt Shop.

  6. Beautiful! I also made a quilt using the same fabric panel and Julia Carnes "Maasai" pattern. I have a Keith Mallet border print with African ladies that I might "release", as you say, onto a quilt. Thanks for the inspiration.

The No. 1 Ladies Dectective Agency was a great television series, starring Queen Latifah, which I was very sad when it left the air.
