(Hey, did you notice the new way Blogger shows pictures? I think it's pretty kewl!)
Do you read books or listen to taped books while you quilt?
There's a very interesting new [literary?] blog that was started in August!
Quilters, Books and Bindings is a group that's reading and making quilts based on the "Someday Quilts" mystery series by author Clare O'Donohue. I've started reading the first one - The Lover's Knot - but I haven't committed to the group as yet, got a lot of "arns in the far" right now. Two people have posted photos of the quilts they're working on - check it out!! Miki Willa is the moderator - if you think it's something you'd like to do, why not join the group, it looks like fun!
Well, today I journey to Pennsylvania Dutch country on the annual fabric-buying bus trip sponsored by Faithful Circle and Milltown quilters. We start out at Sauder Fabrics in Denver, PA, then lunch at Shady Maple Smorgasbord (you gotta love that place!), then to Zook's and the Kettle area in Lancaster. It's always a fun trip - last year I was very, very good (I didn't buy much at all) and this year I plan to be even gooder! Here's hoping for rain-free weather in Pennsylvania, it's more fun in the sun.
Sew forth and sew on til later
Enjoy your trip - but do buy a little something.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for mentioning the Quilter, Books and Bindings blog. It would be wonderful to have others join.
